Lifting Mealtimes out of the Mundane
Learn how to develop an intuitive, almost meditative relationship with the whole process of creating meals on a daily basis, so that cooking becomes a calm oasis in an otherwise busy day rather than feeling like a chore.
Gain unique insights into the way that Hrishikesh Desai, Roux Scholar 2009 and National Chef of the Year 2010 creates award winning cuisine at the Michelin starred Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, and take away key cookery skills from the hands on sessions led by this inspirational Chef.
Katie Sheen, Founder of Soul Nutrition will work alongside Kesh to explore how Mindful Cooking has the potential to transport us away from the stresses of the day and into a world where sights, smells, textures and tastes of a wide range of ingredients are combined to uplift our spirits and hence nourish both mind & body.
The course will include short sessions of informal teaching by Katie Sheen of Soul Nutrition to establish key concepts, combined with hands on cookery sessions led by Hrishikesh Desai. These practical sessions will focus on building confidence in using all of your senses to create dishes unique to you; so no recipes will be provided, just selected groups of ingredients.
Today will include:
- A short presentation on the basic principles of Mindfulness, and how they can be applied to both Cooking & Eating
- Bread Making
- Knife Skills
- Combining ingredients: vegetable broth
- Combining tastes: pesto, pistou & salsa verde
- Combining herbs: Thai curry
- Combining spices: Indian curry
- Best of all there is tasting throughout, and you cook & eat your own lunch before take any leftovers home!
Who is the course for? Anyone interested in exploring mindfulness, and all those who wish to bring a sense of enjoyment, meaning and significance to the preparation of meals, whilst honing their practical cookery skills under the guidance of an outstanding Chef.
Space is limited to 10 participants to allow significant interaction and practical experience within the beautiful Cookery School at Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa. You will be provided with essential information, practical tips and take home resources to help quickly implement knowledge from the course into your daily life.
Course registration begins at 08:30, with a 9am start and finishes approximately 16:00. Full day course including lunch & refreshments priced at £175 per person.
