In this gentle, uplifting workshop we will explore how mindfulness can help us to release the challenges and anxieties that being a parent can bring to our lives, so that we can relax and have more fun.
We will learn how to develop self-compassion and nurture our own happiness, so that our positivity radiates out to warm those around us. By using simple mindfulness techniques we can begin to find the liberation, peace and steadiness that enables us to become the calm yet joyful centre of our families.
This informal, inspiring evening is packed with practical tips and accompanied by information for you to take away. Your child or children can be of any age, from babies to adults.
It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to refresh their existing mindfulness practice. You will not be asked to join in any group activities apart from a short meditation, but will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions if you wish to do so.
The event will be hosted by Katie Sheen, whose style is light, fun and fills you with confidence to enjoy using simple mindfulness techniques throughout each day, not just on the meditation cushion! Katie is a fully qualified teacher who has been practising mindfulness in her own life for over 15 years. She continues to study mindful living in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, though her events are suitable for those of all faiths or none.
