Do mealtimes sometimes feel like a minefield? Would you like to create peace on your plate?
Mindful eating helps you gain the insights you need in order to break negative eating habits, relax, enable your digestion to work effectively, realise when you are starting to feel full so that you automatically eat the right amount for your needs, and yet also give you the freedom to enjoy food more. It also enhances your ability to make positive choices without feeling under pressure, so that you simply relax and enjoy nourishing yourself. Sounds too good to be true? Come along and join us for an event that could shift your perceptions of food and weight loss for ever…..
In this Mindful Eating workshop, you will discover how mindfulness:
– gives you the confidence to find your way through the maze of nutritional advice
– enables you to be supported by your food & drink choices
– reconnects you to the simple pleasures of nourishing yourself with an open, flexible and relaxed relationship with food
This informal, inspiring evening is packed with practical tips and accompanied by information for you to take away. It is suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to refresh their existing mindfulness practice: we welcome teenagers and adults, men and women. You will not be asked to join in any group activities apart from a short meditation, but will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions if you wish to do so.
Your host will be Soul Nutrition founder Katie Sheen, a nutritional therapist who has taught on Diploma and Masters degree courses, trained health professionals and run numerous events for the public. Her style is light, fun and fills you with confidence to enjoy food without guilt or anxiety. Raised in the hospitality industry, she knows that food should be something to celebrate!
Katie has used mindfulness in her own life for over 16 years. She attends the Heart of Manchester & Stockport Sanghas, and therefore practices mindful living in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh. However all her events are suitable for those of all faiths or none. You can read more about Katie on the Soul Nutrition About – Team page @ www.soulnutrition.org
To support this mindfulness event, the interactive Soul Nutrition website offers you the free online mindful eating food diary ‘Nourish’. Watch the video & discover more @ www.soulnutrition.org
