Mindful Living & Mindfulness Meditation Class, Stockport

Would you like to discover more peace, calm and happiness in every day?

This is primarily a talk based evening, and this week we will look at the type of things that influence our behaviour, both consciously and subconsciously. Once we see these more clearly, it is easier for us to change negative patterns of behaviour that are otherwise hard to break free from. There is always a lot of laughter during these events (and a free cup of tea), but some inspiring changes in perspective too.

General Weekly Format:

Each week is a stand alone class, though if you do attend regularly, each will build on what you have learned in other sessions: so feel free to attend as many as you are able. Each class will include:

  • Stockport Mindfulness Meditation Classone short guided seated meditation
  • teaching based on an aspect of mindful living such as: coming back to the breath, handling difficult emotions, developing self compassion, communicating more effectively, changing habits, shifting limiting perceptions, building self confidence.
  • the teaching is led by what the group are finding challenging in their own lives, so you will be given an opportunity to ask for specific topics to be covered in this and future weeks. There is absolutely no obligation to share any personal information unless you choose to do so, but this is a very supportive, non-judgemental class that tackles real issues common to us all and gives you practical, mindfulness based tools that you can use immediately.
  • We’ll be meeting around a table so you can easily draw & write if you’d like to, but this isn’t an art based class

Katie Sheen mindfulness meditation teacherWe welcome people of all faiths or none, and anyone wishing to deepen or develop a daily mindfulness practice. You do not need to have any previous mindfulness experience.

Sessions will be led by Katie Sheen of Soul Nutrition, a qualified teacher who has been practising mindfulness in her own life for over 16 years and studies in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
