In this Mindfulness for Weight Loss event you will learn meditations to help you make friends with your body, your mind and your hunger so that you can nourish each other in a supportive, healthy and happy partnership instead of battling over diet plans.
Mindfulness helps you to identify the foods and eating patterns that support you best, and then inspires you to naturally gravitate towards them. It also helps you to see more clearly the triggers and habits that trap you in cycles of negative behaviour, so that you can release them and heal the pain that they cause.
We will cover the principles of Mindful Eating, and you will be given a handout to summarise the keys to success. Having been raised in the hospitality industry, I call it “Mindful Eating, Michelin Star Style” because by capturing the excitement of eating out in great restaurants and bringing that fun into every mealtime, you can gain more enjoyment from less food and soon enjoy feeling lighter in body and spirit.
If you would like to start experimenting, research has shown that keeping a mindful eating food diary for just 5 days out of 7 initiates successful weight loss without dieting: which is why my website @ www.soulnutrition.org contains a free, photographic mindful eating food diary called “Nourish”. I hope that you will come along to this event to discover more about the joys of Mindful Eating!
This informal, inspiring evening is suitable for complete beginners as well as those wishing to refresh their existing mindfulness practice: teenagers and adults, men and women are all welcome. You will not be asked to join in any group activities apart from a short meditation, but will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions if you wish to do so.
Tickets are just £20 each + £1.83 Eventbrite booking fee, and numbers are limited to 14 people.
You can book your place online now on the Eventbrite Website by clicking here, or by calling Amaranth on 0161 439 9856 between 9.30am & 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
The evening will be hosted by Katie Sheen, whose style is light, fun and fills you with confidence to enjoy using simple mindfulness techniques throughout each day, not just on the meditation cushion! Katie is a fully qualified teacher who has been practising mindfulness in her own life for over 15 years. She continues to study mindful living in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, though her events are suitable for those of all faiths or none. You can read more about Katie on the Soul Nutrition About – Team page @ www.soulnutrition.org
