SkinLife: A Day Dedicated to Skincare and Body Confidence

Mindfulness for skin healthHosted by HelloSkin, this is a day of inspiring talks and workshops by industry-leading skin and wellness experts. Enjoy cookery demonstrations from top nutritionists, listen to talks by some of the UK’s best coaches to help you manage stress and flare-ups, and connect with international body confidence campaigners. Katie Sheen of Soul Nutrition will be delivering two interactive workshops at SkinLife that will take you on an action-packed journey to understand how to use mindfulness techniques to both manage stress and conduct safe, effective exclusion diets for your skin condition.

HelloSkin is the UK’s leading online store for people living with chronic skin conditions. The day will also host a marketplace for you to sample and purchase products to relieve the symptoms associated with psoriasis, eczema, acne and dry skin. Highlights will include sessions held by Philips and Sorion, whose experts will guide you to make informed choices about your skincare routines.

Katie Sheen mindfulness meditation conference presenter UKKatie Sheen, Mindfulness Coach and Founder of Soul Nutrition will be delivering two interactive workshops at SkinLife that will take you on an action-packed journey to understand how to use mindfulness techniques to both manage stress and conduct safe, effective exclusion diets for your skin condition. Using a combination of mindfulness, positive psychology and nutritional support techniques to enhance wellness, Katie will help you to come away with the resources you need to connect with your mind and body to better understand, and hopefully control, flare-ups.

Katie has been using mindfulness in her own life for over 16 years, and continues to study in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh, though her teaching is suitable for those of all faiths or none.

To inform her nutrition work she has a Foundation Science Degree and Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the University of Bedfordshire and The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), and is registered with the Department of Health approved Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

She has taught in various academic settings including the Masters Science degree in Nutritional Therapy at the University of Worcester, the Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition for the College of Naturopathic Medicine, and CPD events for Lamberts Healthcare. She has also written and presented both one-day short courses and online courses for the Institute for Optimum Nutrition.
