This is a weekly Friday lunchtime mindfulness meditation class in Cheadle Hulme. Together we practice a walking and a seated meditation, and sometimes the Ten Mindful Movements by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. All the meditations are guided, so are suitable for complete beginners or those wishing to deepen their existing practice: this is a very friendly class so please don’t hesitate to come along even if you have never meditated before.
The class is from 12:00 midday to 12:45. There is no need to book, and each session costs £5.
Chairs will be provided for the seated mindfulness meditation, or you are welcome to bring your own cushions/stool/mat.
The Ten Mindful Movements are gentle stretching exercises based on Qi Gong, designed to help us enjoy being in the moment as we move: a practice that we can then take into our daily lives as a form of moving mindfulness meditation.
Sessions will be led by Katie Sheen of Soul Nutrition, who has been using mindfulness in her own life for over 16 years. Katie studies in the mindful ‘Plum Village’ tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, but these meditations are suitable for those of all faiths or none.
Please sign in at the Reception of Equity Housing Group, on the corner of Station Road/Monmouth Road, Cheadle Hulme SK8 7EF in time to make your way up to the Boardroom with fabulous views, situated on the top floor of the building, by 12:00.
You can access Reception either through the double doors on Station Road (under the big red square) or at lunchtime through the SKEight Social Enterprise Coffee Shop – some of us meet there for coffee before or lunch afterwards, and the friendships formed within the group are a valued part of our mindfulness experience.
